Hello Pirates!
As many graduations have been taking place this month we take time to remember back to our graduations—some not so long ago and others seem like a lifetime ago. The one thing we all have in common is we spent some time in our childhood at Harbor High and we made memories and friends to last a life time.
Your Alumni Association is set up www.HarborAlumni.com for all alumni to register so if they are not into FaceBook or other social networking sites we can just simply send them an email of upcoming events. Now we use both - FaceBook (Harbor High School Alumni (Santa Cruz, CA) ) for friends to hook up, but we still continue to keep your information current at www.HarborAlumni.com. At our last mailing we had many returned emails so make sure if you move or change emails you re register - and remind your fellow classmates to do the same! We will post a list of bad emails—if you know those people please have them update the information.
Facebook: Feel free to use this page and if you need something different on it let us know---we see many of the pages people set up for reunions are now inactive—we are keeping the alumni one active, so post away---photos of you in high school, get togethers with so school friends for dinner—have some fun.
We get many emails through out the year and one of the big questions is "Why was I never contacted for my last reunion?" Well, your reunion planners tried. I know when we did the All Class reunion a few years back; we put lots of press releases out, sent over 1000 emails, and posted on any and every site we could find. This is why we created www.HarborAlumni.com (formerly www.pirateReunion.com) for Harbor Alumni – so alum can do a simple registration and we will do the notifying.
We looked into another all class reunion this year but the response to the survey we sent early in the year indicated there just wasn’t enough interest to commit to the cost for hosting one this year – economy is tough all around. However, we will address it again soon, so keep spreading the word about the website - we really feel badly when we hear after the fact that we've missed anyone.
Many emails ask who is planning the reunion. In the “old” days it was typically the class officers – Now anyone that wants to can make it happen!
So if you want a reunion---here is what you do, just 3 easy steps
1) Pick a place
2) Set a date
3) Start telling everyone (Send us an email to info@HarborAlumni.com, and we'll let everyone on our lists know)
It doesn’t need to be a big fancy thing---BBQ at the park, Beach, meet at a restaurant or bar. Simply planning a no host happy hour and letting the weekend go from there is really simple.

An Alumni Section has been established for YOU and your classmates, so come join the fun!! Last year we had a very nice turn out and are hoping that even more of our old friends will make the trip to Santa Cruz for this event.
