Class of 1972 Unfortunately I had to leave before my senior year when we moved to San Jose, but I've always considered Harbor my true High School. I was wondering if there is a student contact list for the year 1968. I would love to look up old friends. Coach Enzweiler also taught Drivers Ed I recall, great guy. So happy to hear about the dedication. Thanks Alumni Committee I know you must be volunteering a lot of hours for the benifit of all the pirates, so much appreciated. Liz

Hey there, I just wanted to let you know that my band, "ROMP" is playing at The Crepe Place tomorrow July 15th at 8pm. Hi, I would like to mention LTG Michael A. Vane for the Hall of Achievement. He is 1971 graduate of HHS. He graduated from West Point in 1975 and has been serving our country ever since. He is now a LTGeneral (3 stars!) which puts him in the top 50 of the U.S. Army. (You can google him and come up with tons of info.)

Matt Ryan (XC & Track coach/ROP teacher) suffered a severe neck injury while body boarding in Capitola. He and his wife just had their third child, are a bit overwhelmed at the moment, and can use some help. So, I am asking the Harbor community to reach out and help one of it's own. You can help in one of two ways; they need help with meals and with childcare. There is a fund that has been set up to help pay for a part time Douala ( nanny) and a schedule for meals. Greetings, classmates! Plans are underway for our 30th reunion :-) For now, mark Saturday, August 22nd on your calendars and plan to make a weekend of it! We will be at Peachwood's at Pasatiempo Inn from 6-11 pm on the 22nd. They have blocked off rooms for us at a discounted rate if we stay for two nights and will hold them until mid-July. Lots more information to come so keep your eyes peeled and check out this site frequently for updates. As soon as we have all of the information about cost and events we will also be posting on classmates.com. In the meantime...spread the word and get as many people as you can to log on and register on the piratereunion website! This will be the best way to find as many folks as possible :-) I'm looking forward to seeing you all! (Maybe someone can help me figure out how to deal with sending my baby off to college!) Ha!

So did you notice in the picture of the football guys that showed up for homecoming, that they all looked alike......hahahahaha..... Also, I know they aren't very old, so they must have all gone out and dyed their gotee's grey, to make themselves look older..... Great picture guys...wish I could have been there to celebrate with you!!!
So the Alumni commitee plus some others paid a visit to the old hallowed halls of Harbor High. Boy what a walk down memory lane..hahaha although it has also changed alot. We went to the old library entrance which is now all roped off and grown over...kinda sad. Also we went and sat on the steps....we all remember them being so much bigger...oh that's right, they took part of them and made a handicap ramp, (where was that when I was on crutches... It was fun walking around remembering things from the "old" days. Also big kudos to the powers that be for the football stadium. Something that was way overdue. If you get a chance go take a walk down memory lane too....you won't be sorry. Pictures should be posted soon.

Hello class of 1978, I have not been to a reunion for 20 years. Alison Nigh Strellich has been encouraging me to come again. So, I will be attending the reunion coming up. I was in the class of '78 but I graduated by surprise in 1977 when I was called into the office one day to be informed that I had completed all my classes and requirements. I had been taking college courses the last year and summer school from time to time without any intention of graduating early. Shocked and surprised, I graduated a year early and missed out on my senior year moving directly to college. I am looking forward to seeing some old friends. I was so terribly sad to hear about Dan White. Although I never had him as a teacher at HHS I have gotten to know him as an adult over the past few years. What a delightful man! (His flaming wallet trick at the crab feeds will never be forgotten!) :-) This was way too soon after the loss of John Newman! They will both be missed!

The Harbor High Parent Booster Club is proud to be hosting the 28th Annual Harbor Golf Classic on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the beautiful DeLaveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz. Funds raised from this event help sponsor the many programs that the Booster Cub supports. Sport teams can also help their own cause by providing Tee Sponsorships. Golfers - Registration starts at 11:30 pm with a Shotgun Start at 1:00 pm and a Scramble Format. Your $150 entry fee includes golf fees, cart, lunch, dinner, and prizes. Additional dinner tickets can be purchased separately for $30 each. Tee Sponsors needed - Three levels of tee sponsorships are available; White $100, Green $250, and Gold $500. I myself am single again (well sort of), Iam seeing somebody from Harbor class of 79, and we are very happy. Tom and Ron are doing well in there lives. Shivers you big butt! It's good to hear from you. I talk with Hollis every so often, your name always comes up but nobody has heard from you in years, or knows how to get a hold of you. Would be a fun time getting the four horsemen back together for a night of story telling, that would be some real laughs. He spent so much of his own time working on that field during our playing years and never got the recognition he deserved. Mike it would be great to hear from you!!!!!

Just a quick note to let you all know how wonderful it was to be there with Debbie Thornton for the induction of JoAnn Hughes and Coach Enzweiler to the HHS Hall of Achievement! Ron Indra did a super job speaking on behalf of JoAnn and Coach's son Dirk was the spittin'image of his dad! He introduced the entire Enzweiler clan (including the grandkids!) and it was a wonderful tribute to an amazing guy! It was fun listening to the "Coach stories" told by Fred Heitz and a good time was had by all. It was nice to see the alumni and staff members (both past and present) there. The boosters did a really nice job putting the event together. As soon as Ron gets the pictures to me, I'll get them to Jana and Jane for the website. JoAnn looked great and sends her love to all. She and her mom are in the process of selling their home and Jo has opened up a catering company so she's keeping really busy! It might be fun to make this a yearly alumni get-together.
Brother Tony, how have you been? Good to see you still alive. I have a lot of bad memories involving booze back in the day, and for some reason your'e always in those nightmares. You know I still won't drink tequila, that night at the Alexander's ruined me forever...and I blame you. :) About ten years ago I was up in DeLaveaga so I took a walk back to the tree to look around and reminsce. I'm not kidding you, there were Shlitz cans back there with a 1977 date on them buried in the leaves. Good to hear from you, hopefully we'll bump into eachother at a function down the road, we have a whole lot to reminisce and catch up on. Mike

Great News!! Harbor High will be honoring two of our favorite folks at this year's Hall of Achievement Dinner/Ceremony/Auction Event! Come join us as we pay tribute to JoAnn Hughes and Coach Bob Enzwieler!! The event will be held on Saturday, March 8th at the Cocoanut Grove from 6-10pm. The tickets are a bit pricey but I think it's worth the $50 to spend a fun evening with friends remembering good times and honoring two people who worked so hard to make a difference in all of our lives! (Jo Ann taught me how to cook and Coach taught me how to drive...despite the heckling in the back seat from Marketello and Ellenwood!) Ha! Hope to see you all there! All you have to do is go to the Booster section of the HHS website and download the ticket form. Spread the word!!

Hi everyone, I just dropped in to see if the site was still rolling along. I hope Greg didnâ??t leave anyone (especially Nancy) with the impression that I was laughing it up at Coach Sharpâ??s dedication. It is true that the year I played for Coach was a laugh-fest & the group we had on that bench provided many tears of laughter for sure. Where I did respect coach Sharp when I was in school, it wasnâ??t until years later I came to appreciate how much of himself he gave to coaching. Years after graduation, year after year driving to my folks house, only then did I notice how many hours he used to spend on â??Pirates Fieldâ?? making it look nicer than I have ever see â??Claude Sharp Fieldâ?? look. It was great seeing you Greg, but be careful, I try to avoid trouble these days as hard as that must be to believe. I hope everyone has a great 2008 I look forward to seeing everyone again sometime.

I missed seeing you guys, too, Joni. I think the last time I saw you was at the field dedication for Coach Sharp. Marketello was in rare form that day, as he usually is. Shivers and he were great at imitating Claude. They always cracked me up. Claude was a great guy. I'll always have a place in my heart for that man. I see that Dan White has been leaving messages here. I remember the day I got kicked out of his electronics class. I threw a screw at the giant chalkboard in his room -- I think it was in the F building -- and I got sent to VP Arnie because of it. But I don't remember why I threw it or what happened to me other than switching to another class, though for the life of me I don't remember the class. Well, you may be older than 44, but surely I'M not!! Ha, ha! Thanks, Lynda, wish we got together more often - all of us. Gotta get some of you guys up here to North Idaho!! I've got a couple spare rooms these days - a free bed and breakfast in one of the most beautiful places in the country. What more could you want!
Meeting up with everyone at the homecoming game, crows nest and everything else friday, sat. and sunday was a blast. How old is everyone :) I missed soooo much by not being able to dance, stupid knees !!! Thanks Jane for making the trip. We have been friends for what about 44 years. No way!! Anyway I really enjoy the laughs and fun.

Homecoming Weekend was fabulous - I didn't have THIS much fun 'back in the day'!! Jeff and Sharon Smith, Mark and Lynda Rossi, (Mr.) Dan White, Lynda Williams Grove, Jana, Joni, Anna, Rick Downey, Eric Johnson - you guys are all amazing, and I love ya! Joni, I think Rick Downey probably still has that spinner.... he's planning on using it..... ;)! I sure hope he keeps it around for next year's festivities!!
I can't tell ya'll how much fun I had this past weekend! I passed my pictures along to Jana so keep your eyes peeled :-) Special thanks to Pat Petersen (class of '77) at Johnny's at the Harbor for putting up with us at brunch on Sunday morning! If you haven't been there you HAVE to check it out! Great place, amazing food and drinks, and terrific service! I'll be back! Thanks to the guys who showed up and gave us all someone to dance with! So what can you say about this? Anna, Jana, Jane and the others who were there made this the most fun I've had in months. It was super to see people there that I haven't seen since the reunion or before that. Great people and great friends...and great ladies!!!
So......... had a GREAT time at homecoming weekend. The drinks, the laughs, the friends.....what more can be said. For those of you who didn't make it...ya missed out. Cheri, If you are asking me about Tom...yes, I do remember him very well. I remember alot of people. I'm still raising my kids. Started late...traveled, stayed single along time. Got married late in life and had three kids and foster/adopted one. I hope I can get to at least one of the get togethers... Anna (williams), I saw you on Herndon a few months back. My husband and I were heading to River Park. We were passing Clovis Community....I saw you drive by! How are you?

Cheryl, Did you know Tom Smith from '74? He only went to Harbor as a Freshman, but went to alot of different elementary schools, and B-40 Jr. High. Anyways, He's my hubby. Hey all! 19 days and counting! It'll be great to be back in SC! I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you at the Crow's Nest on Friday night before the Homecoming game at 7:30. (Remember, it's at Santa Cruz High!) I think I'll hang until after the half-time festivities then it's back to the "Nest" for me! :-) Is anyone planning on going to the HHS Athletic Dept. fundraiser at Moe's Alley on Saturday between 1-5pm? The $25 admission gets us food (catered by JoAnn Hughes!) some good old-fashioned rock-n- roll provided by Nick Adam's band, and a chance to throw a few bucks into the HHS kitty alumni style! Let me know if you are interested in dropping by for an hour or two before the crab feed! As for kicking Soquel's butt...I'm pretty sure someone is going to get a licking but, unfortunately, it might be us this year! Maybe the Pirates will be able to make the Knights walk the plank if we are all there to cheer them on! Go Pirates!
